An author, listener, and lifelong learner, Jim North is an analyzer of the human condition who has been profoundly changed by hearing the stories of people he has met and interviewed through the years.
After a rewarding career in sales and management came to an abrupt end in 2012, Jim was faced with a life changing decision: find another job or pursue the education and possibilities he often dreamed about. Jim decided to take the path of education, pursuing his associates degree, bachelor's degree, and master’s degree in journalism, mass communication, and professional writing at the University of Oklahoma’s Gaylord College of Journalism and Mass Communication, finishing debt free.
An award-winning writer, he has authored, Unsung Heroes Wear No Capes: 12 Essential Virtues for an Extraordinary Life, in which he explores the concept of what it really means to be a helper of others. He maintains that everyone is capable of being an unsung hero, with a little inspiration and direction, using the character virtues we each possess.
Jim has been blessed with a variety of life-enhancing experiences: he studied international reporting at Hebrew University in Jerusalem to glean a greater understanding of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. He produced Late Nite with Mr. Jim, a show for elementary-aged children, served as a pastor and children's pastor for many years, and for three years was a featured speaker at the annual John Hope Franklin Symposium in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
A married father of three children and grandfather of four, Jim is living a life filled with possibilities whose mission is to help others do the same. In his free time, this health and fitness junkie and avid runner enjoys singing, acting, humor, and performing.
